Essex Rheumatology Trust - Trustees

Chair of Essex Rheumatology Trust is Professor Bhaskar Dasgupta, a consultant Rheumatologist at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Professor is internationally known in his field of rheumatology and
is invited to lecture all over the world. His special interests are polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arthritis and he is the European leader for an international research study looking at ways to better diagnose and manage PMR.

Other Trustees include consultant rheumatologist's, orthopedic surgeons, an oncologist, and a retired company director.

Meetings

The trustees would aim to hold meetings at least twice per year.

Election of Officers / Terms of Office

The Chairman is elected for a 2 - 3-year tenure (renewable).

The Vice-chairman maybe elected to serve with a view to replacing the chairman on his/her retirement from
office.

The Secretary is elected to serve for 2 - 3 years (renewable).

Voting Rights and Elections

Elections are determined by a simple majority for all positions. The chairman will have the casting vote in the
event of a tie.
